Kitchen installed, decorating done and curtains in

Jonathan did the decorating in June and July and the kitchen went in in July. The blinds and curtains were made in record speed and put up and covered til we had finished.

Paving and walls

Neil Kenneday suggested the sweeping curves on the wall and also in the lawn at the front of the house- genius!

Building walls and sorting out the outside

We decided to make our car parking on the west side of the house (prior to that we had thought that would be a nice place to sit and have it as a paved area for an extra bit of garden- this was until we realised that it was far too windy on that side to be enjoyable!)

We were busy all summer sorting out retaining walls and planning paving. We hid the oil tank behind walls too.

The inside starts to progress- bathrooms installed

Choosing bathrooms was such fun. We got them from Kellaway Bathrooms in Bristol and drove them up as we got such good service from them and it is such a fiddly job- we had 3 to install - it took quite some time getting it all sorted out and we laid inside many bathtubs to make sure they were comfy!

Our new extension

The new extension with the roof on it and windows and doors as well as a new retaining wall around it- amazing to think this only took 3 months!

insulation and massive progress

We were told that insulation was the most important thing to do, and would be more cost effective than solar panels or any alternative energy saving ideas.




The outside of the house - the speed of the progress was amazing! Our new extension can be seen here and already has a roof on!
